Chapter Administrator

Are you a multi-talented HR professional with technical skills? Do you care about what you do? Then become a leader for Northern Virginia (NOVA) SHRM, the 2nd largest Chapter in the state of Virginia! We are currently seeking a part-time Chapter Administrator to deliver critical administrative functions for NOVA SHRM. This is a paid, hourly position at nominal rate.   • Manage the Chapter Information email box, including responding to questions from members and/or prospective members, or forwarding inquiries to appropriate Board Member(s) in a timely manner
  • Create nametags and membership lists prior to monthly Chapter meetings and send to Treasurer
  • Assist the VP, Membership with membership requests and inquiries; monitor and notify expiring memberships one month prior to expiration
  • Create monthly membership reports, at the beginning of each month and ensuring that the appropriate board member receives them as needed
  • Manage the Members in Transition (MIT) process. Review applicants, required qualifications and communicate with applicants upon their confirmed status
  Website Administration
  • Assist the VP, Membership with posting events and articles to the Chapter website
  • Assist the Web & Content Administrator in responding to users promptly regarding event registration and member status updates, posting events and updates to the Chapter website, and managing membership lists via the website group tool
  • Monitor, audit and update Chapter website database for accuracy and reporting
  Marketing & Communications
  • Assist the Executive Director and Web & Content Administrator with various marketing requests
  • Assist the NOVA SHRM/Dulles Mentoring Program with email communications via Constant Contact, development of marketing materials for recruitment campaign, production of nametags and table tents for monthly meetings, generation of SHRM recognition certificates for mentoring graduation, and logo design
  Special Projects
  • Assist the VP, Finance with monthly credit card reports
  • Assist with additional administrative projects and outreach for current Board Members
  • Ensuring that the board of directors’ calendar is populated with relevant dates, meetings and events for the year

Skills and Capabilities
  • Associates’ or Bachelor’s degree, or in pursuit of degree
  • Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in a fast-paced office environment
  • Knowledge of HTML, web text editors, and familiarity with marketing tools such as Constant Contact
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desire to delight the customer
  • Pride in ownership and appreciation for high-quality work
  • Proactive, innovative and collaborative


Employee Relations & Engagement (ERE) SIG Co-Leader

NOVA SHRM is currently recruiting for a co-leader to help lead our Employee Relations & Engagement (ERE) Special Interest Group (SIG). As SIG Co-Leader, you will be responsible for planning and hosting quarterly events related the field of employee relations and employee engagement. This includes identifying speakers, coordinating event logistics and marketing events. Experience in employee relations and/or employee engagement preferred.
