SIG Co-Leader: Talent Acquisition & Management (TAM) SIG

NOVA SHRM is currently recruiting for a co-leader to help lead our Talent Acquisition & Management (TAM) Special Interest Group (SIG). As SIG Co-Leader, you will be responsible for planning and hosting quarterly events related to the field of talent acquisition and management. Activities include:  

  • Identifying timely topics for the SIG
  • Finding, interviewing and securing speakers for events
  • Coordinating event logistics including space, refreshments and delivering opening and closing remarks at events
  • Marketing events and promoting the NOVA SHRM organization

Estimated Time Commitment: 10 hours during event month; less during non-event months

This position requires strong organizational and event planning skills; as well as professional presence and communication skills. Experience in talent acquisition and management preferred; public speaking experience is a plus.


Co-Vice President, Special Interest Groups

Works in collaboration with Co-VP to lead the direction and operations of the Special Interest Groups, which provide meaningful programs complementary to the chapter’s monthly meetings, offering valuable opportunities for participants to network, share best practices, and acquire & develop HR knowledge in their specific area(s) of practice. 

The NOVA SHRM chapter operates six (6) Special Interest Groups (SIGs), each led by a pair of SIG leaders, along with additional volunteers to support the shared services business model required to deliver more than 24 events each year to over 700 attendees. 

  • Sets the group’s annual objectives and facilitating activities among the SIG leaders to meet each group’s member needs and interests.
  • Serves as the point-of-contact for SIG leads to provide support and guidance in program development.
  • Runs quarterly SIG update meetings.
  • Oversee programming content, marketing, administration, data analysis, recruiting & training of volunteers, and responding to member inquiries.
  • Serves as the liaison to the Board to ensure the SIGs are in alignment with the chapter’s mission, goals and/or objectives.
  • In addition, the Co-VP, Special Interest Groups, will participate in recurring Board meetings and support ongoing Board initiatives

Time commitment fluctuates depending on ongoing needs, activities and projects, averaging about ten (10) hours per month. Training and transition time requires two (2) to three (3) months.
